What a guy, what an impact! – By Luke Chadwick

The first time I saw our co-founder and superstar Head of Delivery Jonny Martin coach was over ten years ago now, he was actually coaching my eldest son who is now 21 years old! On arrival I actually thought he was one of the players, he looked so young! But from the moment he started coaching, I knew I was seeing something very special, he was fantastic and every one of the kids loved him. It wasn’t all about what he was coaching, it was how he interacted with all the children, the way he made them feel and the environment he built.

Fast forward several years and I am now working with Jonny at the Football Fun Factory. I also worked with him very closely at Cambridge United Academy where we coached together for a few years, and I can safely say he is the best coach of young children I have ever seen and I’ve been lucky enough to see quite a lot! Over the years Jonny has acquired a high level of coaching qualifications completing his UEFA A licence and Advanced Youth Award which has of course added to his knowledge but what always shines through in every session he delivers is his personality and passion for child development. He truly cares about every child he coaches having the best possible experience, he is a master of his craft.

A massive part of Jonny’s role at the FFF is as our Head of Delivery this entails him supporting our Head Coaches with delivering the best possible experience to the children attending our sessions. He works tirelessly providing everything required for our coaches to put on fun, engaging sessions for the tens of thousands of children that attend our programmes throughout the UK and Ireland, with every session built around the Football Fun Factory ethos of safety, fun, and development always in that order.

But along with that as I’m sure you already know Jonny is a social media sensation! With over 100k followers on his TikTok and Instagram pages, he has built a platform that supports football coaches, offering top tips and wisdom that has helped coaches all over the world. He is without doubt an expert in his field and the following and feedback he receives is a glowing testament to the advice and help he offers on a daily basis. Coach Jonny as he is known on social media is giving back so much to the game he loves so much.

This in turn has helped so much in the growth of the Football Fun Factory with so many coaches first hearing about who we are and what we do through Jonny’s social media. His online presence has seen so many coaches be inspired to join our ever-growing team of superstar Head Coaches. Jonny has become quite a star in the world of children’s football coaching and rightly so. He shares his gift and knowledge to see more children enjoy a positive experience within the game. He is a shining example of how football should be coached and we here at the FFF couldn’t be prouder of the impact he is having.
