So that time is nearly upon us once more and I wanted to take this opportunity in the calm (if you’ve finished your Christmas shopping) before the storm of Christmas day to wish every one of you a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! And also to thank each and every one of you for your support to the Football Fun Factory!
Without it we wouldn’t have been able to grow and scale the FFF the way we have. Since the start of our journey, we have received so much advice, and engagement, and really felt the love of those who are following our journey and that has been a massive driving force in the development of our business as we now start to really motor forward. Our aim has always been to spread positivity through our unique football experiences and to give children the opportunity to play in a fun, exclusive environment expertly delivered by our superstar Head Coaches.
It’s always such a thrill visiting some of our programmes in the lead-up to Christmas and seeing our coaches putting on festive-themed sessions as the excitement in the children really builds! It really is such a magical time of year as we all look forward to a little bit of downtime and spending time with family and friends. Seeing all the children running around and having fun also makes me reminisce of many years ago when I was a child and how much I loved Christmas.
Now don’t get me wrong I still love Christmas now but of course, it’s always a bit more magical as kids! My earliest memories of Christmas Day are of waking up extremely early and getting sent back to bed at an unearthly time in the morning by my Mum who had informed me Father Christmas would not yet have been yet. I remember putting a mince pie out for the great man the night before, not forgetting some milk and carrots for his reindeers and going to bed way too excited to sleep! When we were finally allowed to get up it was a sense of huge anticipation as we entered the living room to see what Santa had delivered. My presents would usually consist of Cambridge United football kits and memorabilia that I wrote out in my best handwriting on my letter and list sent out to the North Pole a few weeks earlier! Such precious memories.
These days I love Christmas for the time it gives us to spend time as a family, and this year is extra special as our youngest son has been out in America studying and we’ve not seen him for several months and can’t wait to welcome him back for a few weeks. Now our children have grown up I kind of miss them knocking on our door at first light to see if they can open their presents, and these days it’s my wife and I that have to wake them up and drag them downstairs so we can get the turkey in on time!!
I hope whatever you are up to this Christmas you have a wonderful time and get to spend time with those you love. And once again a very merry Christmas from all at the Football Fun Factory!
